Thiruvananthapuram: A special council meeting will be held today in Thiruvananthapuram municipality to discuss the letter controversy. Mayor Arya Rajendran has called the council meeting. The meeting will be held considering the letter given by opposition parties including BJP. The BJP demanded that the meeting be held on November 22. But ignoring this demand, the mayor called a council meeting prior two days.

The BJP has also put forward a demand that the mayor, who violated the oath of office, should abstain from the meeting. But it is reported that Arya will attend the council meeting at 4 pm. Meanwhile, the LDF meeting is also being held in the morning. Also in the morning there will be protests by opposition councilors inside the corporation and opposition parties outside.

The crime branch team investigating the incident submitted the preliminary investigation report to the crime branch chief yesterday. The report was delayed because Sheikh Darvez Sahib (crime branch chief) was on leave. It is recommended to file a case and investigate as the original copy of the letter could not be found. A decision will be taken after discussion with DGP in this regard.
