Bengaluru: The family of Shariq, the key accused in the Mangaluru autorickshaw blast case, reached today to the hospital in which Shariq is admitted for the treatment of burn injuries. The cooker bomb, unexpectedly exploded as Shariq was holding it while he was on his way to conduct a massive blast. Shariq sustained 45% burn injuries due to the blast in the autorickshaw and has been admitted to the Father Muller Hospital in Mangaluru.

The explosion in the autorickshaw took place at 5 pm on Saturday near Kankanadi police station area. The driver and the passenger had been admitted to the hospital with burn injuries .The investigation held following the blast revealed that Shariq, the passenger in the autorickshaw is the criminal behind the blast .

Shariq conspired to make a massive explosion at Naguri bus stand in Mangaluru. The accused was well prepared for the blast. Police had found that Shariq got attracted in the terror activities of the IS. He test fired explosives in a remote place as a prelude of his terror operation. But the the explosive cooker bomb that he made on his own, blasted while he was travelling in the autorickshaw.

Shariq purchased the materials for the blast via Amazon and reached Aluva in Kerala to receive the items. Later he travelled to Mysuru and made bomb. Police had also found that Shariq had visited Kerala several times in last three months. Hence, Kerala Police too will conduct an enquiry in the case.

It is reported that the National Investigation Agency will take up the probe.
