New Delhi: The central government has appointed an expert team to investigate the increasing spread of measles among children in various parts of the country. A three-member expert team will visit Ranchi in Jharkhand, Ahmedabad in Gujarat and Malappuram in Kerala. The action belongs to the Union Ministry of Family Welfare. The team will give necessary instructions to the health department of the state. And a detailed investigation will be conducted on the epidemic.
Last day, 13 people were admitted to hospital due to measles in Mumbai. One death has also been recorded. 22 infected persons have been discharged. In addition, BMC informed that 156 more people have been infected in the region.
Since the start of the corona pandemic, vaccination against measles has decreased. The World Health Organization estimates that this is the reason why measles is widely reported in children in different parts of the world.
Measles is one of the deadliest infectious diseases. It is completely preventable through vaccination. Currently, developing countries in Asia and Africa are most affected by measles. It also increases the number of deaths among children.
