New Delhi: P T Usha has been elected as the first woman president of the Indian Olympic Association. The official announcement will be made on December 10.
Currently, she is a member of the Rajya Sabha. Earlier, Usha held the position of observer of Asian Athletic Federation and Indian Athletic Federation.
The other day, she said that the contest for the post of Indian Olympic Association president is with the support of athletes and national federations. Meanwhile, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted, “Congratulations to the legendary Suvarna Putri”.
