Thiruvananthapuram: In the wake of clashes in Vizhinjam, a state wide alert has been issued. All police stations are asked to prepare to face riot like situation. The alert will be there for two weeks. ADGP M R Ajith has issued the alert.
ADGP has directed all police to be on duty and also mentioned special alert for stations in coastal areas. If at all any cop requires emergency leave, permission should be sought from the district police chief. Special Branch should collect details regarding this and Range IGs should evaluate the situation.
Thiruvananthapuram Range DIG Nishanthini is assigned to maintain law and order. ADGP M R Ajith Kumar, who is in charge of law and order, has appointed Nishanthini as special officer. The special police team includes SP, DySP and CI, and also, DCP Ajith Kumar, K E Baiju and Madhusoodanan.
