Malappuram: Man who tried to smuggle gold through Karipur airport arrested. Customs seized gold worth Rs 42 lakh from the passenger. The police arrested Muhammad Ishaq, a native of Kuttipuram, in the incident. According to customs, he tried to smuggle 814 grams of gold by hiding it in a water tap.
Last day, a native of Kanjangad was arrested at Karipur airport with gold worth Rs 42 lakh. The passenger tried to smuggle 760 grams of gold in the form of capsules by hiding it inside the body. The passenger was caught by the police after exiting the airport after avoiding customs.
