New Delhi: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has called a high-level meeting in the context of increasing cases of Corona at the global level. The agenda is to assess the status of immunization, vaccination progress, etc. The meeting will be attended by health secretary, member of NITI Aayog, member of covid committee etc. Health experts are of the opinion that there is no cause for concern in the country at present.
Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Ministry of Health, said that in view of the sudden surge of Corona, it is necessary to prepare positive genome sequencing. Bhushan stated that this will help in timely detection of new variants that are spreading and take necessary public health measures for the same.
A huge increase in the number of corona patients is reported in China. China is yet to release the death toll. Hospitals are also facing shortage of medicines including medical oxygen. Recently, the Corona restrictions were eased after massive protests. According to the Centre, 35 lakh cases are reported globally every week. Corona cases are also increasing in Japan, South Korea, Brazil and America.
