New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin the world’s longest luxury river cruise on 13th this month. The luxury boat travels through 27 river basins of India including Ganga, Bhagirathi, Hooghly, Brahmaputra and West Coast Canal. A distance of 4000 km is covered in 50 days.

The luxury ship will travel from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Dibrugarh in Assam via Bangladesh. Tourists also have the opportunity to see more than 50 tourist attractions, historical monuments, Varanasi Ganga Aarti, Kaziranga National Park, Sundarbans Delta etc. The ship will sail through places like Kolkata and Dhaka. About 1100 km of the 4000 km journey is through Bangladesh. The journey is on the India-Bangladesh protocol route.

This will be the longest voyage by a cruise ship on the river. Officials of the Inland Waterways Authority of India said that the launch of the new cruise will put India and Bangladesh on the world river cruise map. The operation of the ship will be through public-private partnership. The authorities also stated that the most modern facilities are arranged inside the ship.
