Pathanamthitta: Many people were admitted to the hospital due to food poisoning in Mallappally. Those who participated in the baptism ceremony of a local resident’s child have got affected by food poisoning.
The ceremony was held on Thursday. About 100 people attended the event. Those who returned after eating from here were experiencing physical discomfort. Many people sought treatment at the hospital due to diarrhoea and vomiting. After a large number of people came to the hospital, an investigation was conducted and it became clear that the poisoning was caused by the food eaten during the baptism ceremony.
The condition of one person who is being treated at the hospital is critical. The food items were delivered by a catering team from Chengannur.
