Wayanad: A complaint raised that the police officers surrounded the youth and assaulted him. CB Thomas, a native of Wayanad Meenangadi Malakkad, was brutally assaulted by the police. The complaint is that four police officers beat them with a baton.
CB Thomas said that four police officers of the Meenangadi police station attacked him at night without provocation. The complainant runs a pig farm in the area. There was a dispute with the neighbours about this. The CB said that some people in Meenangadi police station had enmity with him and that may have led to the attack. The youth said that before this the police had tried to trap him in a fake case.
According to the police, CB Thomas is an accused in several cases including an attempt to murder. The police claim that they did not attack CB but only dispersed the night crowd near the Meenangadi bar. CB Thomas lodged a complaint with the chief minister and the district police chief in the incident.
