Panaji: The minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Nitin Gadkari, said that the Indian roads will be better than the roads of the US. He also said that the Manohar International Airport , made at Mopa in Goa will become crucial in the development of the state. He said this while inaugurating the first level of the hanging bridge across Suvari river in Goa.
He also expressed his wish to start water taxi services in Goa. The scheme can be implemented if it gets sanction from the Captain of Ports Office, Goa. Gadkari said that the ports are the strength of Goa and the water taxi will easily connect the airports with the sea ports. It will also speeded up the developments of the state.
The hanging bridge will cover 13.2 kms of road from Bambolim to Verna in Goa. First level of the same has been inaugurated by the minister. Rs. 2530 crore has been issued to the scheme. The inauguration of Bambolim-Verna road has also been done by Nitin Gadkari. The biggest cable bridge is being constructed here.
