Chennai: The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to provide strong security to Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai. He will be given Z- category cover and 33 commandos will be assigned for his security.
Annamalai earlier had Y- category security. Central Reserve Police Force’s Tamil Nadu unit commandos will provide security for the BJP State Chief.
The Intelligence Report stated that Annamalai, who had also served as IPS officer in Karnataka Cadre, has security threats from Communist terrorists and Islamist extremists.
