Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi while speaking at Bellari for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections cited the film “The Kerala Story”. He said that the film is based on terror conspiracy and it shows the truth and design of terrorists.
He said in his speech that parties including the Congress have succumbed to terrorism now and uses it as a means for winning votes, blatantly using vote bank politics. He raised the question of whether a party which sides with terrorism can save Karnataka.
He also added that Kerala is a beautiful land filled with hardworking and talented people, and that this film shows the consequences of terrorism that takes place in its society.
Despite the controversies surrounding it, The Kerala Story is released all around the Nation and is receiving positive reviews from all over. The film is crafted in a similar way to that of ‘The Kashmir Files’, integrating the facts of the story to its context. A special show is also arranged at Thapasya Cine House, Thiruvananthapuram for the victims of Love Jihad and forced conversion.
Earlier the High Court denied the petition seeking to stop the screening of the film, stating that the film’s trailer does only mention about the Islamic state and not Islam. The court also asked the petitioner that what speciality this film holds when films mocking Hindu sanyasis and Christian priests already exist.
