Thrissur: The private bus owners in the state have declared indefinite strike from June 7 to press for their demands. The decision was taken in the meeting of the private bus owners held in Ernakulam. They are demanding to increase the minimum travel fare of students to Rs 5.
Other demands raised by them include fixing an age limit for students who get concession, retaining permits of private buses and allowing limited stop buses to continue.
The strike is likely to affect thousands of students as schools and colleges in the state will open next month after summer vacation. The government has not yet responded to this.
