Robbery in Chirayinkeezhu; gold ornaments worth Rs 19 lakhs were stolen from a NRI’s house

Trivandrum: A massive robbery took place in a house of NRI in Chirayinkeezhu. The robbery happened in Muttappalam native Sabu’s residence. It was found that gold jewelries worth Rs 19 lakh were stolen from Sabu’s residence. The Cheriyakooni police registered a case and started the investigation.

The robbery took place in Sabu’s house yesterday morning. Sabu came to the country on 25th of last month for attending his cousin’s marriage. Sabu got to know it was a robbery when he found that the gold ornaments were missing and the kitchen door was kept open.

Apart from gold ornaments, Rs 85,000 and a mobile phone worth Rs 63,000 were also stolen from his residence. The Cheriyakooni police have registered a complaint following this robbery and the investigation is going on by checking the CCTV footage nearby. The primary conclusion of the police is that the robbery was committed by the people who had a proper understanding about the area.
