Chennai: According to the sources, Arikomban will be placed at Kalakkad Tiger Reserve in Tirunelveli. He was captured today after shot with a tranquillizer dart gun.
The wild animal was shot after terrorising the villagers. The wild life department of Tamil Nadu shot Arikomban at Pooshanampatti around 12:30 a.m. Arkkomban had left the forest near Poosanampetty yesterday, and his legs were tied up after being shot. The squad has put him in the ambulance and set off for his journey after being drugged.
It is said that the elephant was shot twice using double doses. The Wild Life Authority of Tamil Nadu has said that the elephant is completely healthy.
Kalakkad Mundanthurai is a tiger reserve that came into existence in 1988. It is located 45 kilometers from Tirunelveli.
