Fatorda, Goa: FC Goa has bolstered its squad with the acquisition of midfielder Raynier Fernandes, marking the club’s fourth signing of an Indian international during the current transfer window. The 27-year-old playmaker, who recently played a pivotal role in Odisha’s Super Cup triumph, brings with him a wealth of experience, having also been a key figure in Mumbai City’s successful 2021 Indian Super League (ISL) and League Winner Shield double.
Raynier Fernandes joins a talented roster that already includes fellow national team stars Rowllin Borges, Sandesh Jhingan, and Udanta Singh. Additionally, the club welcomed the exciting young talent of Boris Singh earlier this week, further strengthening their squad for the upcoming season.
Having previously represented Mohun Bagan, Raynier gained valuable continental experience when he competed in the AFC Cup for the Mariners. Two years later, he earned his first cap for the Indian national team, making a memorable start by contributing to a historic 1-0 victory over Thailand.
