Manali: Numerous people, including 47 people from Kerala, are reportedly stranded in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, as a result of flash floods that have ravaged the region due to the ongoing heavy rain.

The house surgeons from Thrissur and Kalamassery’s government medical colleges are stranded in the mountainous state. Of the 45 doctors, 27 are from Kochi and 18 are from Thrissur.

The travel agency that organized the vehicle for the house surgeons from Thrissur said that everyone is safe in Manali. According to reports, K V Thomas, the Kerala government’s representative in New Delhi, confirmed that all tourists from Kochi have been relocated to safe areas.

At the same time, information on Yakoob from Varkala and Syed Ali from Kollam, who have been reported to be marooned at Tosh village in Himachal’s remote Parvati region, are yet to be known.

“Heavy to extremely heavy” rains slammed Himachal Pradesh on Sunday, causing landslides and flash floods, flooding several regions, destroying houses, vehicles, and other infrastructure while also killing numerous people. According to recent reports, cloudbursts caused flash floods.

Schools and universities are to be closed for two days, according to state authorities. Following the severe rains, up to 765 highways, including the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, were closed. Hundreds of people were stuck in many areas of the state, including Chandrataal in Lahaul and Spiti and close to Sadhupul in the Solan district.

Over 30 homes have suffered entire and partial damage as a result of the 20 significant landslides and 17 flash floods that have been reported in the last 48 hours. According to officials, all major rivers, including the Ravi, Beas, Sutlej, Swan, and Chenab, are in spate.
Additionally, there were reports of automobiles being carried away in flash floods at Nullah in Kullu, Kinnaur, and Chamba in Himachal Pradesh, as well as shops being swept away in Manali.
