Thrissur: In a concerted effort to enhance security measures, a total of 406 individuals were apprehended during night patrolling in three districts of the state. Under the guidance of DIG Ajitha Begum, extensive patrolling operations were carried out in Malappuram, Palakkad, and Thrissur. The arrested individuals include fugitives and individuals with ties to drug trafficking networks. The combing operation was spearheaded by the district police chiefs of Thrissur City, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts.

Inspections were conducted at 306 locations, such as district borders, bus stands, and railway stations, with a total of 7,608 vehicles inspected. During the operation, drugs, including MDMA, were seized, with 37 grams of MDMA confiscated. Additionally, 67 drug-related cases were registered. Furthermore, 132 individuals involved in Abkari cases, 311 warrant suspects and fugitives, and 95 other individuals were taken into custody.

All three tiers of law enforcement personnel participated in the patrolling efforts, with officers forming more than 300 teams. The primary goal of the patrolling was to enhance public safety by preventing crimes such as burglary and cracking down on anti-social activities. DIG Ajitha Begum emphasized that similar combing operations will be ongoing to maintain security.
