Actor Harish Peradi mocks CPI(M) on Hijab controversy.  During the Litmus-23 event organized by eSSENCE Global at Thiruvananthapuram’s Nishagandhi Auditorium, CPI(M) state committee member K Anil Kumar had made a controversial remark on the abandonment of hijab by Muslim girls in Malappuram and CPI(M) being the influence behind it. When the Muslim organisation Samastha and other leaders like KT Jaleel and Arif MP came forward against Anil Kumar’s remarks on hijab, CPI(M) dismissed Anil kumar’s remarks stating it as his personal remark and not party’s stance.

In a Facebook post, Harish Peradi criticizes CPI(M) for its dual stance. In the post, the actor refers KT Jaleel to an independent autorickshaw. Harish Peradi stated, “According to the local news, Anil Kumar got injured after being hit by an independent autorickshaw”.

CPI (M) state committee member Anil Kumar’s controversial remark suggested that the progress in the situation of girls in Malappuram was linked to the Communist Party’s influence in Kerala. Anil Kumar’s controversial remark suggested that the girls who abandoned the hijab in Malappuram did so because of the influence of the communist party in Kerala. Following this remark, former minister K.T. Jaleel, along with A.M. Arif M.P. and many others, including CPI (M) party secretary MV Govindan, came forward against Anil Kumar.
