Chennai: Reality show star Shiyas Kareem, who was arrested in connection with a molestation case, is set to be brought to Kerala soon. A team of Kerala police officials from Chendera, Kasaragod, arrived in Chennai and took Shiyas into custody.
The arrest procedure will be formally documented upon his arrival in Chendera. A case was registered against him at Chendera Police Station under sections pertaining to harassment, sexual assault, and financial crimes. Shiyas Kareem had been granted interim bail by the High Court.
The actor was arrested at the Chennai airport for molesting a young woman after promising to marry her. Shiyas, who was in the Gulf, was trying to reach Kerala via Chennai. But the customs authorities had blocked him.
The customs section of the Chennai airport had informed the Kasargod Chendera police about the arrival of Shiyas Kareem. The police had issued a lookout notice against Shiyas Kareem. Based on this, the customs officials stopped him.
