Kottayam: A housewife lost her life in a car accident while returning home after receiving medical treatment. The deceased, identified as Ammini Mathew, was a resident of Kattappana in Idukki district. The incident occurred right in front of the civil station in Kanjirapally, at approximately 4:30 a.m.
The incident happened when the family was returning home after a hospital visit in Kottayam. The vehicle, driven by Ammini’s son Jacob, collided with a telephone post. Ammini’s daughter, Blessy, was also present in the car at the time of the accident. They were seriously injured in the accident and are undergoing treatment. Preliminary investigations by the police pointed out that Jacob may have fallen asleep, which was the cause of the accident. After the vehicle hit the post, Ammini was seriously injured and immediately rushed to the nearby private hospital, but her life could not be saved.
