Pathanamthitta: Husband commits suicide after stabbing his wife to death. The deceased have been identified as Venukuttan Nair and Sreeja, natives of Thiruvalla. The incident occurred at around 7.am. It is indicated that family problems led to the murder.
Venukuttan Nair and Sreeja had filed for divorce. Venukuttan visited Sreeja’s house in the morning and initiated a confrontation. During the altercation, Venukuttan stabbed Sreeja in the stomach and chest, causing severe injuries. Subsequently, he took his own life by slitting his own throat.
Sreeja was rushed to a private hospital in Thiruvalla, but her life could not be saved. Venukuttan Nair, who had been abroad for an extended period, had recently returned home. The couple has a daughter. The Keezhvaipur police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
