Kozhikode: Muslim League leader M.K. Muneer stated that he views Israel as a real rogue state. Both the United States and China have taken a supportive stance toward Israel, asserting that Israel has the right to defend itself. Muneer argues that this stance can be seen as encouraging genocide, painting a grim picture of the world turning inhumane. He also criticized the United Nations for acting like a mere watchdog.
Muneer also pointed out the dual stance of CPI(M) in this issue. He cited the case of the CPI(M)’s legal action against the Youth League’s Palestine Solidarity Program and suggested that Pinarayi Vijayan, the Chief Minister of Kerala, has an aversion to protests. In a press conference held in Kozhikode, he expressed the belief that most of these protests are targeted against him.
Muneer clarified that it is not the responsibility of the Muslim League to lead protests. Even if the government organizes a program related to the issue of Palestine, the Muslim League has no objections to participating. However, he accused the CPI(M) of approaching the issue with a political bias and alleged that Pinarayi Vijayan is trying to muddy the waters.
Regarding League leader PMA Salam’s position, Muneer emphasized that it is not against Samastha, and it’s essential not to misrepresent it as such. He pointed out the distinction between Samastha as a religious organization and the League as a political organization, which naturally leads to differences in opinions, as stated during the press conference.
