Chennai : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Thaha Nazeer, a 27-year-old painter residing in Thirumalai Nagar, Podanur, in connection with the car bomb blast near Sangameshwarar temple on October 23, 2022. Nazeer is the 14th accused to be apprehended in the case.
Nazeer had prior meetings with Jamesha Mubeen, one of the individuals involved in the blast, which were disclosed in a confession by Mubeen’s widow. These interactions led to Nazeer’s arrest. He is alleged to have had prior knowledge of the car bomb incident, and he was presented before a special NIA court in Chennai.
