Thrissur: A young man was fatally stabbed during a clash between two gangs. Sreerag (26), a native of Olarikkara, is the victim. The incident occurred around 11:30 last night near the Diwanjimoola passport office, close to the railway station.
Sreerag and his group had disembarked from the train and exited through Diwanjimoola Colony. An argument erupted between the two groups when Altaf and his friends, a group of extortionists standing outside the colony, began searching their bags. During the altercation, someone took a knife and fatally stabbed Sreerag, resulting in his immediate death.
Sreerag’s brothers, Sreeraj and Sreeneg, were also injured, with Sreeneg sustaining a stabbing injury.Two of the injured individuals were transported to Thrissur Medical College Hospital, while police reported that the accused, Altaf, is currently receiving treatment at the cooperative hospital.
