Thrissur: KK Anil Kumar, the President of the BJP in Thrissur, has declared his intention to file a case against the Deshabhimani newspaper for disseminating false information targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Suresh Gopi. Deshabhimani had fabricated a news story alleging that BJP leaders had voiced opposition to Suresh Gopi. The left-wing media was using misinformation about a non-existent BJP district meeting to mislead the public.

The false news, which appeared under the byline of Deshabhimani writer Venu K Alathoor and was dated November 7, claimed that there had been a protest by leaders against Suresh Gopi at the Thrissur BJP district meeting. In response, the district president stated that such news had been published in the context of a district meeting that had never taken place and accused Deshabhimani of publishing misinformation.

KK Anil Kumar asserted that these actions were part of an attempt to fabricate a baseless case and propagate false allegations against Suresh Gopi. He further indicated that the BJP was determined to counter and defeat what he referred to as the “poisonous false propaganda” by the CPI(M) against Suresh Gopi and would pursue legal action against Deshabhimani.
