Alappuzha: The post-mortem report on the suicide of Prasad, the president of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Alappuzha District and in-charge of the BJP farmers’ organization in Thakazhi, has been released. Prasad passed away a few hours after ingesting poison. Police have confirmed that the handwriting on the suicide note belongs to Prasad.

The Ambalapuzha police received the post-mortem report this morning, confirming that Prasad’s cause of death was due to poisoning. Samples have been dispatched to experts for chemical analysis to identify the specific poison ingested.

Simultaneously, Food Minister G R Anil has reiterated that PRS arrears are not the sole cause of the farmer’s death. The minister argued that the farmer might have had other loans and highlighted that PRS arrears would not impact the CIBIL score.
