Thiruvananthapuram: SupplyCo has introduced discount sales on home appliances. SupplyCo is planning to sell unsold old models of home appliances at half price in the wake of the prices of essential commodities are set to increase in the state.
SupplyCo ventured into the home appliance market in 2018 but faced challenges in sales due to the COVID-19 crisis. Efforts to sell through major outlets proved unsuccessful, leading to the accumulation of older models in various stores. Factors such as the introduction of technologically advanced models, fluctuations in pricing, and shifting consumer preferences contributed to product stagnation.
Facing reluctance from companies to take back the unsold appliances, SupplyCo, under increasing pressure from depot managers, made the decision during a board meeting on October 5 to offer the products at a discount rate.
