Pathanamthitta: A merchant was found murdered inside his shop in Mylapra, Pathanamthitta, yesterday. The deceased, identified as George Unnoonny (73), was a resident of Pudhuvel house in Mylapra. The hands and legs of the person were tied, and a piece of cloth had been stuffed into his mouth.
The body was first discovered by customers who arrived to make purchases in the shop. The body was found at the back of the two-room shop. Furthermore, the CCTV cameras in the shop were damaged, and the CCTV hard disk is missing.
In connection with the incident, the police have assembled a special team for investigation. A team comprising two DySPs has been formed under the SP. The preliminary assessment by the police suggests that the murder occurred during an attempted robbery.
