Pathanamthitta: The police have reported that the investigation in the case of the strangulation of George Unnoonny, a merchant in Mylapra, has reached a critical stage. As the CCTV footage from the shop was lost, authorities have gathered CCTV footage from over forty buses operating on that route. These recordings are currently under investigation.
Three people were questioned yesterday. It was revealed that the murder was committed using a lungi and a shirt, which were later recovered by the police. It has been confirmed that George was killed during an attempted robbery. His missing possessions include a golden chain worn by George and the money kept in the shop. The preliminary conclusion suggests that the murder was carried out by individuals familiar with George. An investigation is also underway, focusing on certain local residents.
Customers who arrived at the shop to make purchases discovered the deceased body with hands and feet tied, and a cloth stuffed in the mouth. The CCTV footage and hard disk were found to be missing.
