Former minister and Congress leader TH Mustafa passes away

Ernakulam: Former minister and senior Congress leader TH Mustafa (82) passed away. He died while undergoing treatment at Aster Medcity in Kochi due to age-related ailments. He was the Minister of Food and Public Distribution in the Cabinet of K Karunakaran.

The body of TH Mustafa will be kept at home for public viewing. The funeral will be held at Marampally Jamat Kabrastan at 8 pm, today.

Born on December 7, 1941 in Vazhakulam, Perumbavoor, Ernakulam to TKM Hydros and Fatima Biwi., he entered politics through the Youth Congress. He was first elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 1977 from Aluva. In the years 1982, 1987, 1991 and 2001, he represented the Kunnathunad constituency in the Legislative Assembly. He also worked as District Congress Committee (DCC) president of Ernakulam district for 14 years.
