Malappuram: The Kerala Police have filed a case against Samastha Kerala Sunni Students Federation (SKSSF) Vice-President Sathar Panthalloor for his ‘hand-chopping’ remarks. Malappuram police have registered a case against him under section 153 of the IPC (wantonly giving provocation, with intent to cause a riot). The case has been filed against Sathar based on the complaint of a person named Ashraf Kalathingal.
Sathar made the provocative remarks at the conclusion of a rally called Muqaddas (meaning ‘sanctified’). The video of the event had also gone viral on social media. In the video of the controversial speech, Panthalloor is seen warning that SKSSF activists would chop the hands off anyone who tries to tarnish, insult, or attack Samastha leaders. Samastha and the Muslim League have expressed disappointment over the SKSSF leader’s speech.
