Thiruvananthapuram: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again issued a notice to former Finance Minister Thomas Isaac in the KIIFB masala bond case, directing him to appear at the Kochi ED office on the 22nd of this month at 11 am. The case alleges that money was diverted and spent in violation of the rules by KIIFB and Thomas Isaac.
The ED initiated an investigation in the Masala Bond case a year and a half ago. Initially, the High Court had prohibited the questioning of Thomas Isaac in the case. The court had stayed the petition filed by Thomas Isaac against the ED, citing concerns about the inquiry seeking his personal information. Recently, the court allowed the ED to proceed with the investigation, tightening the noose for the former finance minister. Thomas Isaac failed to appear in response to the summons issued on the 12th of this month.
