Malappuram: A case has been filed against ASI Gopi Mohan of Malappuram station, who, under the influence of alcohol, caused an accident in a police jeep. The incident occurred in Mankada, Malappuram last night, where the police vehicle collided with a car.
Following the collision, the police jeep attempted to flee the scene, but locals intervened and apprehended ASI Gopi Mohan realizing he was in a drunken state. Mankada police, informed by the locals, promptly reached the spot and took the ASI into custody. Police have registered a case against him for drunken driving and causing the accident.
