Islamabad: A bomb explosion occurred today morning in the northwestern city of Peshawar, Pakistan. According to reports, two people were killed and several others injured in the blast. It is reported that a motorcycle carrying highly explosive materials exploded on the road in Board Bazar, Nasir Bagh Road, Peshawar.
The motorcycle was carrying explosives weighing 4-5 kg. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
Police are investigating whether it was a planned attack or if the explosives detonated while being shifted.
Peshawar, the capital city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has been a former stronghold of the militant Pakistani Taliban group, also known as the TTP, and has witnessed several deadly attacks in recent years.
