New Delhi: The Election Commission has officially issued the notification for the first phase of the Lok Sabha election 2024, scheduled to take place on April 19. This phase will encompass the voting for 102 Lok Sabha seats spread across 17 states and four Union Territories.
The last date for the submission of nomination papers is March 27, with scrutiny of nominations set for March 28. Candidates will have until March 30 to withdraw their nominations.
In the first phase, all seats in Tamil Nadu, 12 seats in Rajasthan, and eight seats in Uttar Pradesh will go to polls. Additionally, six seats in Madhya Pradesh, five seats each in Uttarakhand, Assam, and Maharashtra, four seats in Bihar, three seats in West Bengal, two seats each in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya, and one seat each in Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, and Pondicherry will go to polls.
