Stop terror factories, don’t lecture on democracy: Bharat lashes out at Pakistan over Kashmir

New Delhi: Bharat on Sunday hit out at Pakistan at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), saying lectures by a country with an abysmal track record of democracy is laughable and advised it to stop its terror factories to launch cross-border terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the 148th Assembly of the IPU in Geneva, Switzerland, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh utilized his right of reply to rebuke Pakistan. He highlighted Bharat’s status as the world’s largest democracy and emphasized its reputation as a model for others to follow.

In response to Pakistan’s allegations concerning Jammu and Kashmir, Harivansh reaffirmed that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of Bharat, unaffected by any rhetoric or propaganda.

He urged Pakistan to stop its support for terror factories that perpetrate numerous cross-border attacks in Jammu and Kashmir while hypocritically claiming to champion human rights causes.

Harivansh reminded the IPU members of Pakistan’s history of harboring and aiding terrorists, citing examples such as Osama Bin Laden’s discovery in Pakistan and the country’s dubious distinction of hosting a significant number of UN Security Council-proscribed terrorists.

Harivansh expressed hope that Islamabad would reflect on its actions for the betterment of its people. Leading the Indian delegation to the IPU, he conveyed Bharat’s firm stance against terrorism and reiterated the country’s commitment to peace and stability in the region.
