New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has appointed Sadanand Vasant IPS, as the new Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Additionally, Piyush Anand IPS, has been appointed as the new Director General of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). These appointments come as the tenure of the current Director Generals nears its end.
Sadanand Vasant, a 1990 batch officer of the Indian Police Service, previously served as Deputy Inspector General of Police in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and was awarded the President’s Medal in 2007. He currently holds the position of Director General of the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
