New Delhi: Former Deputy Prime Minister of India and senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani will be conferred the prestigious Bharat Ratna by President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday. It is reported that the President will visit LK Advani’s residence to confer the country’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna. This decision was made considering the ailing health of LK Advani.

Sources report that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda will also be present on the occasion at his residence.

On February 3, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that LK Advani would be honoured with the highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, for his contributions to national development.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that LK Advani is one of the most respected statesmen India has ever seen. Modi shared his happiness on LK Advani being conferred the Bharat Ratna through the social media platform X(formerly called Twitter).
