Kolkata: In a significant development, two key conspirators involved in the Bhupatinagar blast case in East Medinipore district, West Bengal, have been apprehended. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) detained Balai Charan Maity and Manobrata Jana, the alleged conspirators, during search operations. The blast occurred in December 2022, claiming three lives at the residence of Rajkumar in Naruvabilla village.

Initially, the state police filed an FIR against the deceased individuals on December 3, 2022. Recently, the NIA had questioned three Trinamool Congress members regarding their potential involvement in the incident.

However, during today’s investigative visit to Bhupatinagar, assailants attacked NIA officers, injuring one of them. NIA officials suspect these attackers to have affiliations with the Trinamool Congress and have launched a search operation to apprehend them.
