Amit Shah meets with NSA Ajit Doval amid troop surge in Kashmir: Might visit the State soon

New Delhi: Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, held a meeting with National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, and Home Secretary, Rajiv Gauba, at Parliament today. His meeting comes at a time when Kashmir is witnessing a surge in Indian troops after intelligence reports warn of impending terror attacks by Pakistan based terror networks.

Reports say that Amit Shah is likely to visit Jammu and Kashmir for three days after the Budget Session.

The meeting chaired by Amit Shah was also attended by Intelligence Bureau chief Arvind Kumar, Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) chief Samant Goel, and other senior officials. The meeting was held to review the critical situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

The State is witnessing massive troop surge in the past few weeks which has left the Kashmiri politicians and Congress jittery.

The presence of increased troop movement into the State follows intelligence reports that warn of large scale fidayeen attacks close to the Independence Day celebrations. The Center also curtailed Amarnath Yathra because of a heightened terrorist threat against the Yathra by Pakistan based terror networks.

The security forces also uncovered weapons and also mines with Pakistan ordnance markings which show the direct link between terrorists and Pakistan.

Yesterday, Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) squad tried to infiltrate into Indian territory across the LoC. All the BAT squad members were gunned down by Indian forces and their bodies are still lying along the LoC. In an insult to its own soldiers, the Pakistani military has declined to accept the bodies of their soldiers fallen after fighting with Indian troops.

India today asked the Pakistani military to retrieve their bodies so that they could give their fallen soldiers a proper burial.
