Bengaluru: After losing his position as Chief Minister of Karnataka, H. D. Kumaraswamy, will now face a CBI probe into a phone tapping accusation. The allegations were raised by former JD(S) and Congress MLAs who quit the Assembly.

Chief Minister of Karnataka, B. S. Yediyurappa, announced today morning that the phone tapping case filed during the previous ministry will be now handed over to CBI.

Former JD(S) State President, A. H. Vishwanath, who deserted the party accused that phones of around 300 persons were trapped which included senior leaders like Siddaramaiah of Congress party.

While announcing that the case will be handed over to CBI, the Chief Minister said that the case is transferred to the national agency because many prominent leaders including Siddaramaiah had demanded a probe into the matter.

However, Kumaraswamy said that he is ready to face any investigations into the phone tapping case. He accused the regional electronic media channels of false propaganda and said that they will not be successful.

The former Karnataka Chief Minister said, “I am ready to face any investigation into the telephone issue. Let there be an international-level inquiry on phone tapping charges against me. “
