New Delhi: Media reports say that former Army Major, Dr. Surendra Poonia, has filed a complaint with the Home Ministry, on Saturday, after he received threatening calls and messages for tweeting Indo-Pak issues on his Twitter handle.
Poonia said that he received messages threatening him and his family if he do not stop speaking about Indo-Pak issues. In addition, someone from an unknown number told him that they would character assassinate him if he continues with his activities.
To these threats, Major Surendra Poonia responded by sharing his Regimental insignia ‘Balidan’ and said that he doesn’t know the meaning of fear.
However, Poonia also expressed serious allegations against Vodafone questioning their integrity and breach of customer privacy. He said that callers who threatened him and his family said that they got his number and whereabouts by paying employees at Vodafone.
He also said that callers also threatened him of releasing obscene videos involving him if he continues to tweet about the recent issues between India and Pakistan.
Surendra Poonia has filed an online complaint with cyber crime portal of Ministry of Home Affairs.
Major Dr. Surendra Poonia graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College and had served with the President’s Bodyguard at Rashtrapati Bhawan, Special Forces, and the United Nations Peacekeeping force in Congo.
He is an international award winning sports person and has won power-lifting and athletic events in world championships. Poonia joined the BJP officially on 23 March, 2019.
