United Nations: The United Nations has supported the Indian actress, Priyanka Chopra, for supporting the Indian armed forces on her Twitter. The spokesperson for the UN Secretary General, Stephane Dujarric, said that Chopra has the right to speak in her personal capacity about issues and interests that concerns her.

The Bollywood and Hollywood actress had tweeted on 26 February a simple statement saying Jai Hind #IndianArmedForces followed by emojis. She was responding to the Indian air strike at Balakot in Pakistan. Chopra is currently the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

Stephane Dujarric said, ” “Their personal views or actions do not necessarily reflect those of UNICEF.”

However, he added that when she speaks for UNICEF she must adhere to the impartial positions of the international organization.

Her tweet was criticized and trolled for supporting India’s security forces. However, the UN’s clarification will now settle the matter. Even Pakistan had written to the UN demanding that Priyanka Chopra be removed from her position of Goodwill Ambassador.

Pakistan had written to the UNICEF to remove Priyanka Chopra from the post of Goodwill Ambassador. Chopra was even attacked by a Pakistani woman in Los Angeles for the tweet.

However, Priyanka Chopra has gained widespread support for her patriotic support for the Indian security forces.
