New Delhi: The Prime Minister will be travelling abroad to Brazil to attend the 11th BRICS Summit, which will be held on 13 and 14 November. He is also scheduled for bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Narendra Modi will attend the BRICS business forum and the plenary sessions.
In a closed session the world leaders will discuss on challenges and opportunities for the exercise of national sovereignty in the world. The meeting will be followed by BRICS plenary session where leaders will discuss about cooperation for economic development of the BRICS countries.
Modi will also attend the meeting of BRICS leaders with BRICS Business Council. The President of the new Development Bank and the Chairman of the Brazilian BRICS Business Council will give their reports.
A BRICS MoU will be signed and the summit will end with a joint declaration.
BRICS is an international organization of developing countries of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. It together comprise 42% of the world’s population and controls 23% of the global GDP and about 17% of the world trade.
