New Delhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi in an interview to Outlook magazine said that he ‘wants his masjid back’. Ever since the Supreme Court gave its verdict on Ayodhya, the Hyderabad MP has been the criticising the verdict and the Government of India.

“For me, the Constitution is supreme and it gives me the right to disagree respectfully with any SC judgment. I will oppose anything that is against the Constitution,” he said.

“Our fight was not for a piece of land. It was to ensure that my legal rights are realised. The SC [Supreme Court] also categorically said that no temple was demolished to construct a mosque. I want my masjid back,” said Owaisi.

After the Supreme Court gave its landmark verdict on Ayodhya case, Owaisi had tweeted a picture of a book about the Supreme Court: “Supreme But Not Infallible.”

The court had ordered the disputed land be handed over to a trust to build a Ram Temple at the site and awarded 5 acres of land to the Muslims.

A complaint has been given against the AIMIM leader and Muslim hardliner, Asaduddin Owaisi, for trying to incite communal tensions with his statement against the verdict of Supreme Court in the Ramjanmabhoomi case.
