New Delhi: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has made a female humanoid robot ‘Vyom Mitra’ to accompany the three astronauts who will be send to space by the year 2022 in its Gaganyaan mission.
However, the ISRO is planning to send Vyom Mitra in a solo flight by the year end before sending real human astronauts to space.
The humanoid robot is capable of performing multiple tasks and speaks two languages. The ISRO Chief K. Sivan said “Our robot will be like a human, and be able to do whatever a man can do, although not as extensively as humans.”
Last year he said that ISRO wanted to make sure that Gaganyaan’s purpose is beyond displaying the ability to send humans and bring them back safely.
