Patna: The poll strategist and Janata Dal (United) Vice President, Prashant Kishor, who shot to fame after he crafted the phenomenal victory of Narendra Modi in 2014 was expelled from his party for indiscipline. Another JD(U) leader, Pavan Varma, was also expelled along with him.

In a statement, the JD(U)’s General Secretary, K. C. Tyagi, said, “As both the party leaders have been broken the party discipline, they are being expelled from the primary membership of the party.”

Prashant Kishor, who was the number two in the party, was at odds with party leader and Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, especially for not taking a strong stand against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and had urged Nitish Kumar several times to take a strong stand on it.

Pavan Varma was also not having good relations with Nitish Kumar after Varma objected to JD(U) having an alliance with the BJP in the coming Delhi Assembly elections.

However, the fate of the leaders was a foregone conclusion after Nitish Kumar had said a few days back that both leaders were free to leave the party.

JD(U) leader Ajay Alok was more critical to Prashant Kishor and said that he was a Coronovirus in the party.

Ajay Alok said, “This man is not trustworthy. He could not win the trust of Modi ji and Nitish ji. He works for AAP, talks to Rahul Gandhi, sits with Mamata didi. Who will trust him?”

He added, “We are happy this coronavirus is leaving us, he can go wherever he wants to.”
