New Delhi: In a mega rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached out to the people of Delhi ahead of the election to the state assembly. He spoke about how his government regularized illegal colonies in Delhi. He also blamed the Delhi government for stalling development works of the Central government.
The Prime Minister was speaking at New Delhi’s Karkardooma area on the CBD Grounds.
Narendra Modi said, “People who never thought that they will ever be able to get their home registry done in their lives, are now seeing their dreams come true.”
He added, “Today, you do not face the risk of facing a bulldozer because of the central government. When a BJP government is formed in Delhi, steps will be taken to develop unauthorised colonies. Vote to change Delhi because the BJP is solving India’s issues, and fixing old problems.”
Last month the Central government passed a bill to grant ownership rights to residents of 1,731 unauthorised residential colonies in Delhi. This has benefitted up to 40-50 lakh migrant workers who lived in fear of being evicted.
The Prime Minister also blamed the Aam Admi Party (AAP) government of stalling development schemes of the central government. He promised that poor people in Delhi will have proper houses if BJP is voted to power.
Modi said, “We have built two crore pucca houses for the poor already, and we are going to build another two crore people soon. I would like to tell you what’s troubling me today. So much work has been done across the country, so many poor people have received new houses in other states, but the Delhi government does not want to do the same for the poor in this city.”
He also said that India will not be driven by politics of hate championed by some opposition parties, but will be driven by politics of development.
